Crowns and Bridges:
Crowns:
We may recommend a crown when a tooth is fractured, has a large
old filling, or is severely damaged by decay. Crowns strengthen and protect the
remaining tooth structure. There are porcelain crowns and all-metal crowns.
Dr. Owais will remove decay, prepare and shape the tooth, make
an impression, then fabricate a temporary crown to cover the tooth. The
impression is sent to a dental laboratory where they will make the permanent
crown.
Dr. Owais will match the crown color to the color
of your teeth. If you are considering whitening your teeth, you should do it
before the crown is made. Bleaching products do not change the color of crowns
and we would prefer to match the crown color to the color of your teeth after
they are whitened.

Bridges:
A Permanent Bridge replaces missing teeth. Its purpose is to keep
teeth from drifting into the space created from a missing tooth and to help
preserve normal function and normal bite for the jaw joint.
A Permanent Bridge is cemented to the teeth in front of and behind the space
of the missing tooth. The natural teeth provide a stong support for the bridge.
